Distribution of industrial accident prevention materials for foreign workers in 16 languages

The Korean government announced that it is producing and promoting various materials in foreign languages ​​to prevent industrial accidents among foreign workers.

The Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency under the Ministry of Employment and Labor distributed educational videos to prevent various industrial accidents, such as welding fires and suffocation in confined spaces, which frequently occur at industrial sites.

Safety and health education materials for foreign workers produced by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency were produced in 16 languages, including Vietnam, Uzbekistan, China, Thailand, Pakistan, and the Philippines (English).

In addition, reflecting the increase in foreign workers and industrial accidents in the shipbuilding industry, we have produced and provided 9 types of training materials called 'Shipbuilding Industry Safety Work Guide (OPS; One Page Sheet)' containing safe work methods for each major task.

This guide was developed by the Corporation in Korean and translated into foreign languages ​​by the Human Resources Development Service for use by foreign workers in the shipbuilding industry.

It is very difficult for foreign workers to find materials in that language on Korean-language websites. Additionally, foreign workers must be able to view all safety and health-related content in their native language.

We urge the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency website to be produced in multiple languages ​​so that all foreigners can access it in their native language.
