South Korea simplifies visa requirements for Filipinos                                                                      MANILA, Philippines - To help boost tourism, South Korea has updated its visa application requirements for Filipino travelers.

According to the Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC) Philippines in a Facebook post on Thursday, the "three months of bank statements" requirement will be waived starting Feb. 20 2026.

NAIA records almost 5 million passengers in January                                                                         MANILA, Philippines - Passenger volume at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) reached 4.96 million in January, its operator said on Friday.

Peak volume reached 180,089 last Jan. 4, the highest single-day passenger traffic so far, the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) said in a news release.

Fuel prices to hike up to P1.40/L next week                                                                                              MANILA - Oil prices are projected to rise by as much as PHP1.40 per liter next week amid supply concerns.

In a Friday advisory, Jetti Petroleum President Leo Bellas said diesel prices could rise by PHP1.20 to PHP1.40 per liter, while gasoline prices may increase by PHP0.30 to PHP0.50 per liter, based on Asian benchmark prices and foreign exchange movements as of Thursday.

Foreign maids under South Korea's pilot project overworked, underpaid: Poll             SEOUL - Foreign housekeepers employed locally under a government pilot project launched two years ago were severely underpaid and had to do extra work that was not agreed upon, a survey showed on Jan 17.

In September 2024, the Seoul Metropolitan government launched its foreign maid pilot programme and allowed the entry of 100 people, mostly from South-east Asia, including Philippines, to work as housekeepers at more than 150 households in the city.
