Foreigners can also check the move-in household
Regulations that prevented foreigners from checking the move-in household when buying or renting a house in Korea have disappeared.
The ‘Confirmation of moving-in household’ is a document issued when confirming who lives in a house and how much they pay.
In the meantime, this document was not issued to foreigners, so they wrote a power of attorney to a Korean and had it issued instead.
In the future, we decided to improve this unreasonable regulation and allow foreigners to issue a confirmation of moving in from the second half of this year. The Korean government was able to rectify this wrong regulation by holding a ‘Raw Dang Regulation Contest’ in April and receiving suggestions from citizens.
Inspection and issuance of certificate of stay for foreigners
There's another problem. If you get a ‘confirmation of move-in household’, it turns out that only Koreans were checked and no foreigners were checked.
When buying or renting a house, you can suffer great damage if you do not properly understand the person who is living under the contract first.
In response, the Ministry of Justice announced that it would implement a system of ‘reading and issuing confirmation of foreigner stay’ to check whether there is a foreigner who has reported before moving into the new house.
The law related to this system was amended last December and went into effect on June 14th. The Ministry of Justice has laid the foundation for a system for reading and issuing foreigner stay confirmations through the establishment of a related information system.
In order to check the foreigner's stay confirmation, attach documents that can prove the application requirements, such as a lease contract or sales contract, and apply at the nearest immigration office or eup, myeon, or dong office!
