Each credit card company plans to launch a customized budget transportation card that adds additional public transportation discounts and other life service discounts to the mileage of the budget transportation card.

The thrifty transportation card is a project in which the state and local governments pay mileage according to the distance traveled by walking or cycling when citizens use public transportation to reduce transportation costs, and the credit card company additionally supports transportation expenses.

If you receive a thrifty transportation card, you can use the service through a smartphone app.

Through this, users can save up to 10,000 to 40,000 won per month on public transportation costs and receive additional discount benefits from credit card companies (about 10% of public transportation costs, up to 40,000 won per month). Foreign residents can also use it.

As of this month, 530,000 people are using it in 17 cities and provinces and 173 cities, counties and districts nationwide.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to increase the amount of savings for low-income households from March so that they can save up to 110,000 won a year.

Also, in July, the policy is to introduce the ‘Thoughtful Transportation Card Plus’ with an increased accumulation limit.

We plan to increase the number of mileage accrual per month from 44 to 60 and reduce transportation costs from 10,000 won to 40,000 won per month to 15,000 won to 66,000 won per month.

It also eliminated the inconvenience of having to manually submit documents by automating the address verification process when signing up for the first time.
