Samsung Electronics Service is actively
carrying out social contribution activities to help young people from
multicultural families become self-reliant.
On the 19th, Samsung Electronics Service
delivered 24 million won in educational support to 80 youths from low-income
multicultural families.
Educational support is a system in which
the company provides matching grants with donations voluntarily raised by
executives and employees to alleviate the burden of youth from multicultural
families who have difficulties in studying for economic reasons. Starting with
the support of 50 youths from multicultural families in the Gyeonggi region in
2020, the target area and number of people have been expanded to 80 nationwide
this year.
In addition, the Suwon Global Youth Dream
Center is operating the 'Vision Class', an IT application education course for
teenagers from multicultural families for three months from September 14th.
In the 'Vision Class', Samsung Electronics
service instructors participate in talent donations and are actively supporting
them to improve their IT skills, such as △using
office programs such as PPT and Excel, and△checking
basic computer skills.
In a situation where non-face-to-face
competencies such as IT usage skills have become more important due to
COVID-19, the purpose is to provide practical help to youths from multicultural
families with their academic and employment competitiveness, and students are
also actively participating in the education.
Ha Seung-bin, a 19-year-old Nepali student
who participated in the training, said, “I am happy to learn how to use a
computer that is very helpful for my studies and daily life.
Samsung Electronics Services also supports
psychological counseling and treatment for children of multicultural families
who are prone to psychological instability due to language and cultural
differences during adolescence.
Since 2020, about 100 elementary school
students from multicultural families annually are receiving help for psychological
stability through professional psychological counseling and music and art
healing programs with the support of Samsung Electronics Services.
Kim Jeong-hoon, head of the win-win growth team at Samsung Electronics Services (Managing Director), said, “We hope that it will be of some help to the children of multicultural families to develop their dreams. Samsung Electronics Service will actively promote various social contribution activities that return the love received from customers to society.”
