On the morning of November 21, the Korea Immigration Foundation opened the Daejeon Test Center, which conducts the Korean Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Social Integration Program.

The recently opened Daejeon Computer-Based Testing (CBT) Test Center (2nd floor, 154 Jungang-ro, Jung-gu, Daejeon) is a place where you can take tests on a regular basis using computers for the social integration program pre-evaluation and comprehensive evaluation for naturalization.

The pre-evaluation is a test that determines the level of education of foreigners who wish to participate in the social integration program and measures their level of Korean language and understanding of Korean culture. The comprehensive evaluation is a test that measures whether a foreigner seeking Korean citizenship has the basic knowledge requirements, such as the Korean language.

Basically, foreigners who complete the social integration program in stages can receive various benefits when obtaining various residence permits and nationality. Now it has become a necessity for all foreigners who want to stay long-term in Korea. Until now, evaluation of the social integration program was only possible through paper-based tests held simultaneously across the country and the Gwangmyeong Computer-Based Testing (CBT) Testing Center located in Gwangmyeong-si. However, with the opening of the Daejeon Testing Center for Computer-Based Testing (CBT), the central region and the south of Korea Foreigners living in the country can now take the test more conveniently.

CBT test site evaluation schedule

The social integration program computer-based test (CBT) pre-assessment, which is held at the Daejeon and Gwangmyeong test centers, is conducted up to four times a day, four days a week (Monday to Wednesday, Friday), and the comprehensive evaluation for naturalization is conducted twice every Thursday.

For more information, such as how to apply for computer-based testing (CBT) and the evaluation schedule, please refer to the Social Integration Program Evaluation website (www.kiiptest.org).

Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon, who attended the opening ceremony that day, said, “Immigration policy must be pursued thoroughly from the perspective of national interest, and the key to integrating immigrants into Korean society lies in Korean language proficiency.” “With the establishment of this additional computer-based test (CBT) test center, opportunities to evaluate Korean language skills will be expanded for foreigners seeking long-term stay status or naturalization, such as skilled workers (E-7-4) and permanent residents, and foreign workers will be provided to industrial sites with a shortage of workers. “I expect that the supply of skilled manpower will become even smoother,”
