Gyeonggi Province is publicly recruiting '2025 Gyeonggi Province International Medical Coordinator Training Trainees' until June 2nd.
International medical coordinators are in charge of interpretation for foreign patients and support medical services, tourism, marketing, etc. for foreign patients in the globalized medical market.
The total number of recruits is approximately 50 people, and applicants must have an address in Gyeonggi Province and, in the case of foreigners, must be excellent in speaking their native language and Korean.
The training period is from June 14 to September 12, and will be held every Saturday for 4 hours at the Suwon City Gwanggyo Hongjae Library. Two courses will be operated: the basic course (40 hours) and the overseas marketing course (16 hours). The training contents include ▲Understanding the foreign patient attraction business ▲Role of international medical coordinator ▲Clinical characteristics by specialized department ▲Medical service process ▲Related laws ▲Document writing, etc. Upon completing the training hours for each course, a ‘2025 Gyeonggi-do International Medical Coordinator Training Course Completion Certificate’ will be issued.

Gyeonggi Province selected 8 graduates as ‘Gyeonggi International Medical Supporters’ after the training ended last year and provided them with opportunities for medical institution fam tours, promotional marketing, and interpretation and translation practice. They are currently working as freelance interpreters and online marketers at Hopyeong Asan Internal Medicine, Changdeokgung Oriental Medicine Clinic, etc.
Gyeonggi-do Medical Resources Division Director Eom Won-ja said, “Gyeonggi-do International Medical Coordinator training is a practical talent development training that provides everything from basic theory courses to post-training practical training and linkage at host institutions,” and added, “We expect that by providing educational opportunities to Gyeonggi-do residents and linking them to employment, it will contribute to job creation and strengthening international medical competitiveness.”
Meanwhile, as of April this year, 687 foreign patient attraction organizations are operating in Gyeonggi Province. Last year, 51,184 foreign patients visited Gyeonggi Province, and by department, they were in the order of internal medicine, screening center, orthopedics, and obstetrics and gynecology.
