Post content

After graduating with the highest honors from the Department of Doctrine Propagation in Indonesia in 1996, I received an offer to teach, but decided to work in Korea. And a week later, I entered Korea through the industrial trainee system.

At first, I worked for a company that made car doors. At the time, Korea was going through an IMF financial crisis, and as I watched Korea overcome it, I came to respect Korea and Koreans.

In 2000, I returned to Indonesia, got married, and started a business raising chickens and catfish. In addition, I spent time attending community capacity building programs and educational programs at the Department of Doctrine.

But I really wanted to go back to Korea. So, after many efforts, I came to Korea through Korea's Employment Permit System (EPS), and for six years starting in 2006, I worked at three manufacturing plants, including a textile factory, a cable factory, and a plastic factory. After working faithfully, I returned to Indonesia in 2012. After returning to Korea, I participated in the ‘Customized Training Program for Returned Workers’ conducted by the Human Resources Development Service, and then worked for Korean companies and local companies in Indonesia. At the company, I mainly performed personnel management, interpretation, and general affairs duties. The high level of passion and work ethic I learned in Korea was of great help in advancing my career in Indonesia. In 2017, I started working at Cahaya Group as a general affairs and human resources manager and was elected as a director of the company in 2020.

In particular, my experience working in Korea helped me understand production processes and staff efficiency. I learned how to solve problems and how not to delay work, and was able to apply the motto of “Passion, Health, Speed and Prudence”, which is the Korean work principle, to my company.

Even while I was busy with work, I taught Korean at a Korean language institute, and in 2018, I founded my own Korean language institute. Although we still have limited facilities and an insufficient number of students, we are always working hard and with a positive attitude.

I am grateful to Korea for teaching me the wisdom of life, such as “Nothing in this world is free” and “If you plant beans, you will get beans, and if you plant red beans, you will get red beans.” The Korean people became my teachers, treated me kindly, and helped me achieve my goals and dreams in life.
