Recruitment of residents for ‘Reliable Jeonse Housing’, where people can live for a long period of time at a lower price than the surrounding market price, has begun. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced that it will sequentially conduct tenant recruitment announcements starting June 27 for approximately 3,400 houses that were initially secured, mainly in Seoul and the metropolitan area.

Reliable rental housing is a public rental housing provided by Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) by purchasing townhouses, multi-family homes, and officetels in the metropolitan area. The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport plans to provide 25,000 households with reliable rental housing over the next two years starting this year.

 

A secure rental house, what's better?

A secure leased house can be lived in for up to 8 years (4 years + 4 years), providing a much more stable living environment than short-term rentals. Another advantage is that anyone can apply without income or asset restrictions.

You can choose from a variety of housing types such as townhouses, multi-family houses, and officetels, so you can choose a house that suits your needs and preferences, and provides a more comfortable living environment than other public rental housing. Additionally, since you sign a contract directly with LH or HUG, you can live stably without any problems with lease fraud or deposit refunds.

One thing it lacks is the lease price, which is a bit more expensive than other rental houses. The deposit for a secure rental house is about 90% cheaper than the surrounding market price. However, it is more expensive than other public rental housing provided by LH. Therefore, check out various rental homes before applying.

 

Where can I apply?

Non-homeowners who wish to move into rental housing should access the LH Subscription Plus (apply.lh.or.kr) or the HUG Ansim Jeonse portal (www.khug.or.kr/jeonse) to obtain detailed information on the housing advertised and how to apply for occupancy. Just check your back.

The documents required to apply for a secure leased house include a copy of resident registration, income tax withholding receipt, and property verification documents.

Kim Gyu-cheol, head of the Housing and Land Office at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said, “In order to achieve without a hitch the plan to supply 25,000 households of reliable rental housing over the next two years, we will increase housing purchases, focusing on areas with transportation accessibility and location.”
