Hanshin University, a private university in Korea, forced 22 international students from Uzbekistan who were studying at the school's language school to leave the country. They were issued D-4 (general training) visas and entered the country on September 27th, and were able to stay in the country for three months until the end of December, but were unfairly kicked out. *Why were you forced to leave the country? : According to the Ministry of Justice’s ‘Guidelines for visa issuance and stay management for foreign students’, international students at language schools must maintain an account balance of 10 million won or more while staying in the country. If you withdraw even 10 won in the middle, it is a violation of this guideline.
The university’s position is that it preemptively forced international students to leave the country to prevent them from becoming “illegal immigrants.” There was no illegality or coercion in this process.
