In this truly absurd Itaewon disaster, 154 people died and 149 people were injured (33 seriously injured, 116 people with minor injuries).
Among those who died, 26 were foreigners. 15 foreigners were also injured.
The number of foreign deaths was 5 from Iran, 4 from China, 4 from Russia, 2 from the US, 2 from Japan, and 1 each from France, Australia, Norway, Austria, Vietnam, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Sri Lanka. We pray for the well-being of the foreign residents who died in a distant land.
The injured were dispersed to nearby hospitals and received treatment, and most returned home, but six people are still receiving treatment.

The reason why the number of foreign deaths was higher than expected is presumed to be because Itaewon has a large floating population of foreigners and it was the weekend before Halloween, so many foreigners went to play.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is notifying the diplomatic mission of the country in Korea as soon as the identity of the foreigner who died or was injured in the disaster is confirmed, such as nationality.
In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to help expedite the issuance of visas if the families of foreign casualties wish to enter Korea. We decided to support as much as possible about the transportation of the body.
