What is child care service?
Childcare service refers to a childcare service where they visit your home to take care of your children when you are unable to take care of your children due to dual income, etc. There are two main types of child care services: part-time service and full-time infant service. 🤓👍
‘Part-time service’
The part-time service is for children aged 3 months or older to 12 years old or younger.
The usage fee is ▲(Basic type) 15,550 won per hour ▲(Comprehensive type) 13,720 won/hour. Instead of paying the full amount, depending on the type of Ga~Da, the amount you pay varies from 1,582 won to 8,967 won for the basic type.
The government support hours are 840 hours a year, but you can use the service at your own expense even if you exceed the government support hours. However, there is a night and holiday surcharge, so you need to check it when using it.
The basic type consists of general care activities such as going to and from school, and the general type includes housekeeping services such as preparing meals for children and washing dishes in addition to the basic type.
‘All-day service for infants’
The full-day infant service is a service provided for infants aged 3 months to 36 months old. The government support hours are 200 hours per month, and the fee is 15,550 won per hour.
All-day service for infants includes feeding baby food, changing diapers, and bathing, of course, excluding housework. For other services, consultation is required with the agency.
There is also the ‘Disease Infected Child Support Service’, which is used when a child who does not normally use child care services suddenly becomes ill and needs to return home.
How to use child care service
To use the child care service, you need a National Happiness Card. If you already have a National Happiness Card, you can use the service with your existing card. If you do not have a card, you can apply through the card company website or call center.
Childcare services are differentiated by household type according to income standards and supported by the government.
Among the families in which the childcare gap has occurred, households with a standard median income of 150% or less fall into ‘Ga~Da’.
You can apply for social security benefits at the Dong Community Center and receive government support once the Ga~Da type is decided.
Families that do not have a childcare gap (such as full-time housewives) or households with a standard median income exceeding 150% fall under Type Ra.
