I am a foreigner with an E-2 Conversational Instructor visa. I am currently renewing my E-2 visa, but it is taking longer than usual due to tax issues. I don't think it's my fault, but I'm not quite sure what the problem is.

However, the problem is that the visa I currently have will expire on June 30th. If I do not renew my visa by June 30, will I become an illegal alien? I would like to know what happens if my visa expires on June 30, like getting a temporary visa extension, or changing to a visitor visa at the immigration office, etc.
